Chicago Fire begins tonight with Gabi Dawson (Monica Raymund) is on the phone upset about the situation the alderman has put them in. Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) asks her what is going on, and TCFS tells Gabi they are removing Louie because of the scandal this could cause. Casey admits he was dodging calls from the alderman, and as Gabi is freaking out, he tells her that politics got them into this mess and its politics that will get them out of it, promising he will fix this.

Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) wakes up with champagne bottles and bras laying all around. He is at Travis Brenner’s (Scott Elrod) place, who offers him a drink before he heads back to work. Travis admits that having parties is his life, but not as exciting as Severide’s job. Travis offers him an opportunity to travel with him for a Vodka campaign, and he gives Severide 3 days to make a decision.

Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) speaks to the firehouse with the announcement that Jimmy Borrelli (Steven R. McQueen) and his family they appreciate all the donations. Jimmy is being transferred to a care facility with a rough road ahead. Casey tells Gabi he made some calls to see who can help, and they are off to a call. The old abandoned steam tunnels are smoking, but Randall “Mouch” McHolland (Christian Stolte) hears people screaming and they learn they’re stuck in the tunnels.

Casey and Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) open the grate and go down into the tunnels. There are flames everywhere, as the crew attempts to remove everyone. Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) pushes a woman to leave and she proceeds down one of the tunnels where the woman said someone had went and there is no exit that way.

Stella finds him, but the flames explode, trapping them in the tunnel. Stella sounds her alarm, where Casey and Herrmann put a chain on the grate to rescue them. Stella brings him to the ambulance, where Gabi gives him some oxygen, Stella realizes he is homeless, and tells him to smile and be glad he is alive. She returns to the tunnel and gets the boy’s backpack; but when she comes back to the ambulance, he was gone.

Casey calls Susan Weller (Lauren Stamile), who says she knows who is sniffing around for the story, and Casey asks her if she can fix it. Susan promises to put all her resources on it until it is solved. Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) asks Gabi about her brother, Antonio (Jon Seda), which has her curious about why. Gabi sees Casey talking to Susan, and even though she isn’t happy about it, she hopes Susan can do what she promised.

Otis (Yuri Sardarov) sees Stella with the backpack and when she explains why she has it, he sees that there is a great comic book inside the bag, and he loved them back in high school. Severide’s furlough is approved. He tells the guys that he is going on a trip with Travis. Otis says he knows how this guy travels, and it’s top of the line everything. Severide informs the truck crew that Chief is bringing in someone to take his place. Otis asks if he can come, and Severide says no.

Brett and Mouch are in the lunch room, working on their book. Brett is trying to add new characters, but Mouch wants to bring in a shapeshifter. Brett is talking about adding a character that matches Antonio. Their chat is cut short when Stella comes in with questions about the bottle of pills that fell out of the bag. Brett explains that they are for Hep “c” patients, which is common among the homeless, but confirms that there is nothing about them that will help him get high, but he needs to get help before it gets any worse.

Brett and Gabi arrive at their call, where a young boy is pumping another one’s chest, saying he thinks his brother had a heart attack. Gabi takes over, and Brett gives him an IV, but Gabi says she felt like something has popped. They can’t intubate and it appears his lung has popped. The mother is upset and demands Gabi to stop touching him. Gabi grabs her and tells her to look at her son, that they need to help him or he will die. They are able to revive him, and the mother is relieved.

As soon as Gabi comes back to the fire house, she asks Casey if there is any news from Susan. He tells her that as soon as he hears anything she will know. CPD’s Dt. Antonio Dawson is meeting with Stella to help her locate the missing boy. He enquires about Brett, but quickly changes the conversation to the missing boy again. He asks if Stella knows the kid, she tells him that she doesn’t but she knew people like him.

The reporter, Terry Martin, digging into Louie’s story is at the firehouse to see Casey. Connie (DuShon Monique Brown) tries to get her to leave, but Casey approaches her. Casey tells her that she needs to speak to Susan Weller; that he is on duty and he doesn’t conduct alderman business from the firehouse. Before Severide leaves, Otis asks him if they will wear a “Molly’s” t-shirt on tour, to promote business for the bar.

Casey and Gabi meet with Susan for dinner, where Susan says they did it and Louie isn’t going anywhere. Susan says she changed the reporter’s hunger for gossip. Gabi tells Susan she can’t thank her enough. Susan says that Casey should have contacted her the second this started. Gabi wants to go home to see Louie, but Susan asks Casey to stay to talk politics.

Herrmann and Otis are at Molly’s and discussing how business is very slow at the bar. Herrmann brings out a sign for lower drinks and promised good times. Otis asks him if he has ever seen Bar Rescue, and that sign would be the kiss of death. Also at the bar is Stella and Brett, where Stella talks about finding Chris. She also lets it slip that Antonio asked about her. Travis arrives at Molly’s, where he was meeting Severide. Severide invited him to help bring in business to the local neighborhood bar.

Gabi and Casey talk about how quickly Susan got the job done, and Gabi is grateful, but Casey is a bit concerned that it was too fast, and why the alderman gave up so quickly. Gabi apologizes about how terrified she was about losing Louie. Casey comes to see Connie and asks if the reporter left a card.

Antonio comes to see Stella, and tells him there is no sign of the kid, but there is a warrant under his name for a B&E, turns out that he broke into a pharmacy. Stella says because he is sick, Antonio tells her it doesn’t matter, if he gets picked up he is going to do time, and he will become a convicted felon. Antonio tells her if she wants to help this kid, she needs to do it before the CPD does.

Brett sees Antonio leaving, and asks him if he is free tomorrow night. He says that she is great, but things are complicated, his ex-wife is certifiable and is in the midst of a custody battle while dodging bullets all day long. He tells her he barely has time to microwave a pizza, and she tells him she likes microwave pizza. He says they are in different places right now, and he is sorry but he is only looking out for her.

Casey meets with the reporter, Teri, who wants to know why he reached out to her. He asks about Gary. Stella finds one of the kids that was living in the tunnels and asks about Chris and where he is. She tells them she isn’t a cop, but she needs to find him because she has meds that he needs. She tells them if they see him to come by Firehouse 51.

Herrmann walks into Molly’s and it is packed full, when he asks where all these people came from and Otis tells him it’s because of Travis. Gabi talks to Brett about Antonio; Brett tells her that Antonio is not into her. Gabi bursts out laughing and says she couldn’t be more wrong. Gabi advises her to not follow Antonio’s advice when it comes to love.

Herrmann is loving the business of the bar, but isn’t liking that patrons are referring to it as a ‘dive’. Severide had moved on to a party at Travis’, where he chats it up with a blond, but is interrupted by Travis, who needs his help, as they walk down the hall there is cocaine sitting on a stand and a girl on the floor who is overheating and overdosing. Severide revives her with ice water, and Travis says he will drive her to the hospital, but Severide needs to stay behind and clear out the place.

Stella pleads her case with Boden, he says Chris had other options to get those meds. Stella interrupts and says she can show him that, and asks Boden to help her with that. Boden tells her that they need to find his family and friends to help. Stella says that isn’t true.

Brett runs into Severide at the firehouse, where Brett tells him that the girl who overdosed is going to be okay. Severide is happy to hear that, but Brett asks who brought her in because she was found on a bench out front of Chicago Med, Severide is shocked. He thanks Brett for the information and leaves.

Susan comes to see Casey, after he asks her to come by. Casey wants to know about Gary’s proposal from 2011, and why Susan was with him on it. Casey had figured out that Gary was one of her clients and she was the one who tipped off Gary about Louie to get Casey back into politics and into the Senate. She denies it, but he tells her he has his limits, and when she put Louie in jeopardy, she went ten miles past it. He tells Susan to get out of his life and stay out of it, or he will dismantle her, and that she better not think for a second he isn’t serious. He orders her to get out!

Stella arrives at a YMCA community center, and asks if the receptionist has seen him. She says they get a lot of street kids in who take showers and leave, so they don’t ask questions. She stands outside and Chris finally shows up. Stella tells him if he wants his backpack back he has to come with her.

Severide arrives at Travis’ place and confronts him about leaving the girl on a bench. Travis tells him that they saved her life, Severide is angry, saying that the girl wasn’t out of the woods, and she is still in ICU. Travis plays it off that he did it to save the girl from humiliation because someone would have recognized him and taken a picture, and it would have been all over the internet. He then pleas with Severide to pack his bags and go on the trip with him.

Stella brings Chris to the firehouse, where Boden has Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) and Mr. Jeffries, the States Attorney. Goodwin tells him they have a program for the treatment of Hep C, and due to special circumstances, they are willing to offer him the program for free.

Mr. Jeffries tells him if he takes the program, they will put his crime down to a misdemeanor, and he will only have probation. Boden tells him about a shelter he can stay in, and they have a spot open for him for as long as he needs it. Chris asks Stella why she did all of this, and she tells him all they want to do is help him. Jeffries tells Boden that poker night will be a lot of fun now because he owes him big time, Boden says he can’t wait and to bring his wallet.

Brett comes to see Antonio at the bar. He tells her to listen, but she says she already listened but now its time for her to talk. She says, “I’ve had my heart stomped on too, but I don’t have any kids. I’m pretty good with them, and my job beats me down on a regular basis, but like you, I love it and I lied about liking microwave pizza. Nobody likes microwave pizza. And with that out of the way, do you want to ask me out, or should I ask you?” Antonio offers to buy her a drink and she accepts.

Casey comes home to find Gabi humming to Louie who is sound asleep in her lap. Gabi offers to bring him to bed, but Casey tells her not to. They are the perfect family of 3.
