For some reason, people think that Sylvester Stallone's thick mane of cranial follicles are fake, but does he rock a toupee or has he gotten implants?

It's no secret that folks who have money aren't afraid of a little unnatural work to enhance their looks. From steroids, to growth hormone, to cosmetic surgery, there's a saying on Twitter that goes like this: You ain't ugly — you're just broke.

Now, while I think that this discounts a lot of work people put into having the toned bodies we ogle over on the silver screen and Instagram, there are some things people raise eyebrows at, like Sylvester Stallone's full head of hair.

Sly's been a longtime bodybuilder and fitness buff both on-camera and off. The guy's pretty much always been in great shape. With the exception of his role in Copland, his physique has been a huge selling point in many of his films.

I have to admit as a kid growing up in Jersey, he's someone I kinda idolized, even if he did get caught smuggling HGH into Australia. That doesn't really bother me because it's not like steroids just work without you exercising your butt off — Stallone clearly does.

But no matter how many 'roids you inject, deadlifts you max out on, carbs you cut, and chicken breasts you pound down, none of that will help you grow back a thick head of hair.

And people are not only impressed with Stallone's enviable physique at 73 years of age, but that huge head of hair he's been rocking throughout his career. Some people even think that his hairline improved with age after browsing through some recent photos.

So does Sylvester Stallone wear a toupee?

It wouldn't be the first time a big-budget blockbuster action star fooled audiences into thinking they've got a legitimate head of hair.

Sean Connery's been rocking a toupee since 1958 — he began losing his hair at the early age of 17. Which makes sense, the guy's packing naturally high levels of testosterone, which is probably why he wasn't a half-bad amateur bodybuilder. That combined with male pattern baldness and you've got a recipe for losing hair quickly.

It's hard to tell whether or not the man's wearing a hairpiece or if he's had transplants performed over the years. While it's always looked like Sly's been rocking a full head of hair throughout his career, it's not crazy to assume that he got ahead (heh) of hair loss. He's worked hard to maintain a great physique so it's not far-fetched to assume he'd take the same precautions for his hairline.

The consensus is that he got hair implants.

Then there are others who believe that there's no way the star received hair transplants, as there would be visible scarring and evidence that the actor got some follicles put into his scalp.

It seems like the consensus though is that Rocky would never rock a rug on top of his dome, and that Stallone just got a lot of good hair implants. This article, along with this one, make a pretty compelling argument that the Judge Dredd actor doesn't need to wear a toupee.

So what do you think? Does Stallone have hair plugs or a toupee on top of his head? Or is everyone wrong and he's all natural?
