Mike Tyson loves what Jake Paul is doing for the sport of boxing but believes he’d easily deal with the YouTuber in a fight.
Paul parlayed his internet celebrity status into a boxing career in 2020 and he has since amassed a perfect 6-0 record by beating non-boxers.
On February 26, he’ll fight Tommy Fury (8-0) in what appears on paper to be the toughest test of his short career in the sport.
A win over Tyson Fury’s younger brother would legitimise Paul in the eyes of many boxing fans and the WBC who will give him an official ranking if he is victorious next Sunday.
‘The Problem Child’ has had heavyweight boxing legend, Tyson, on his side since the start – ‘Iron’ loves what Paul is doing for boxing.
Tyson said in April 2022: “I love the fact he jumped into the game.
"People don’t understand that boxing needs that. At this stage in boxing the greatest fighters are not fighting each other, boxing needs a guy like this.”
But, despite appreciating what Jake and his brother Logan Paul are doing for boxing, Tyson believes he would easily handle both men 17 years on from being the heavyweight champion of the world.

He added: “[Jake’s] punches you can see coming a mile away, you can see that coming a mile away. I’m 55, I can see that coming a mile away.
“I would beat these f***ers [Jake and Logan Paul]. I’d go straight at them, there would be no boxing. The only thing I got to do is be in shape.
“30 days of boxing training every day and I can fight anyone. If I’m boxing every day I wouldn’t even have to worry about diet.”
In 2020, Tyson ended his 15-year retirement from boxing and took an exhibition bout against fellow ring legend, Roy Jones Jr, which ended in a draw.
Since then, Tyson has repeatedly suggested he is done with fighting for good despite believing he still has what it takes to handle the new wave of boxing superstars.
